The Defense Enhancement Coalition is composed of a union of community leaders and retired military representatives charged with strengthening Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst by advocating for additional missions and protecting the base as it moves into the future from the threat of spending cuts and potential actions by Sequestration and Base Realignment and Closure Commission (BRAC). We know that the budget reduction will have a negative effect on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and it is our intent to minimize this impact as it relates to our homeland security and our economy.

Protect Our Communities From Defense Spending Cuts

Current defense spending cuts of $492 billion are proposed over the next 10 years. No one believes defense could accomplish its mission at reduced funding levels that would result from full Sequestration. Huge reductions would be required in procurement, force structure, and infrastructure additionally, cuts will also occur. Because we are at a crucial point in the future of national defense structure we are actively seeking help from the community through financial contributions or volunteering of time in order to stop any future efforts that could harm Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and other nearby military installations through realignment or closure.
